El Señor de los Cocos
“El Señor de los Cocos” is a painting inspired by the artist’s trip to El Salvador at the age of fifteen. During her stay in San Salvador, she met a street vendor selling fresh coconuts who shared, with great pride, that his work was helping fund his sons’ education. Years later, while developing a collection inspired by her memories of San Salvador, the artist returned to this encounter as a source of inspiration.
This piece serves as an homage to street vendors around the world; individuals who are often overlooked despite their resilience, sacrifice, and determination. Through this work, the artist highlights the quiet dignity of those who work tirelessly each day in pursuit of a better future for their families.
