The Bond
Do you remember the last time your parents held you?
Not a hug. I mean truly held you—lifting you into their arms, close to their heart, before gently setting you back down.
There was a final time they did that, and neither of you knew it would be the last.
That thought came to me after watching a creator share this question online, and I couldn't stop thinking about it. I asked my mom if she remembered the last time she carried me. She couldn't recall the exact moment, but she remembered the feeling: the weight of me resting against her heart.
The Bond reflects on those quiet, ordinary moments that become extraordinary only in hindsight. It is about the closeness between parent and child, the tenderness of being carried, and the memories we often don't think to preserve until we've already grown.
